Rev Timothy Wright in Fatal Car Crash
July 7, 2008
NEW
YORK — The congregation led by gospel singer
Timothy Wright gathered for praise and
remembrance Sunday, following the death of a
second family member from a head-on car
crash.
The Friday crash with a driver going the
wrong way on a Pennsylvania interstate
critically injured the Grammy-nominated
Wright and killed co-pastor Betty Wright.
Their 14-year-old grandson, D.J. Wright,
died Saturday.
Timothy Wright, the church's 61-year-old
founder, was in critical condition, but
speakers reassured congregants at Grace
Tabernacle Christian Center that he was
conscious and led them in prayers for his
health.
"He shall live," Rev. Frank Williams said.
"He has impacted too many people. He has
paid some of our rents when he couldn't even
pay his own."
