One bus will return by 5PM one bus will return by 12AM the next day. There will be room for parents and friends on a limited basis. Non choir members will have to pay to be admitted into the Prudential Center. Permission slip required for students attending. Aleshia Cole, GEMS, will be singing as a soloist in the Tot Division. Date of Event	2/29/08	Dancers – Singers – Gospel Choirs - Poets - African Drummers – Story Tellers – Children Performances – Cultural Cuisine – Vendors – AND MUCH, MUCH MORE On Friday, February 29, 2008 – the Mount Vernon Family YMCA will present its first annual Black History Month Community Event. Our theme “Empowering Our Youth – Leaping into Success” The program will feature many talented, powerful performances from choir groups, story tellers, motivational speakers, drummers & dancers from Mt. Vernon and around the county. A special performance by kids in the Y’s early childhood and after school programs will be the highlight of the evening. Many cultural & educational vendors will also be available. Mount Vernon has seen its share of changes in the past several months, changes that affected the community’s spirit and divided most. This year the High School GospelKnights and the GEMS Elementary School Middle School GospelKnights will be joined by the Pocono Mountain West High School Gospel Choir, Marion Archer and the Revelators praise dance ministry and Dabe James and his Step Team.
